As much as GPT-4 impressed people when it first launched, some users have noticed a degradation in its answers over the following months. It’s been noticed by important figures in the developer community and has even been posted directly to OpenAI’s forums.

OpenAI says that GPT-4 is 40 percent more likely to give factual responses, and 82 percent less likely to respond to requests for disallowed content. While that’s an improvement from before, there’s still plenty of room for error. A unique twist on The Trolley Problem could involve adding a time-travel element. Imagine that you are in a time machine and you travel back in time to a point where you are standing at the switch. GPT-4 Turbo performs better than our previous models on tasks that require the careful following of instructions, such as generating specific formats (e.g., “always respond in XML”). It also supports our new JSON mode, which ensures the model will respond with valid JSON. The new API parameter response_format enables the model to constrain its output to generate a syntactically correct JSON object.

However, through our current post-training process, the calibration is reduced. As quality and safety for GPT-4 fine-tuning improves, developers actively using GPT-3.5 fine-tuning will be presented with an option to apply to the GPT-4 program within their fine-tuning console. GPT-3.5 is an improved version of GPT-3, capable of understanding and outputting natural language prompts as well as generating code. It is probably the most popular GPT model since it has been found in OpenAI’s free version of ChatGPT since its launch.

While GPT is not a tax professional, it would be cool to see GPT-4 or a subsequent model turned into a tax tool that allows people to circumnavigate the tax preparation industry and handle even the most complicated returns themselves. Our new TTS model offers six preset voices to choose from and two model variants, tts-1 and tts-1-hd. Tts is optimized for real-time use cases and tts-1-hd is optimized for quality. The new seed parameter enables reproducible outputs by making the model return consistent completions most of the time.

However, the new model will be way more capable in terms of reliability, creativity, and even intelligence. We haven’t tried out GPT-4 in ChatGPT Plus yet ourselves, but it’s bound to be more impressive, building on the success of ChatGPT. In fact, if you’ve tried out the new Bing Chat, you’ve apparently already gotten a taste of it. In addition to internet access, the AI model used for Bing Chat is much faster, something that is extremely important when taken out of the lab and added to a search engine. Regardless, Bing Chat clearly has been upgraded with the ability to access current information via the internet, a huge improvement over the current version of ChatGPT, which can only draw from the training it received through 2021.

A Microsoft VP confirmed on Tuesday that the latest version of BingGPT is using GPT-4.
